As a fresh transplant to Brooklyn in 2012, Oleh Zaychenko — AKA Bring Prudence — found himself without his band or his friends, just an obsolete laptop. “Grad school wasn’t going the way I’d imagined,” he says, “what better way to escape than getting abducted?”

On Aliens, the follow-up to his debut Engineers, Zaychenko hones his trademark blend of sweeping melodies and confessional songwriting. The eponymous single premiered on 89.3 The Current in the winter of 2012 and was featured on the Local Current Blog. The entirety of the album was recorded in a makeshift home studio.
